Explore the riches of the urban side of Poole Harbour with our series of urban guided walks. Situated at the most northern part of Poole Harbour, the large shallow tidal bay is a bustling winter birding site, hosting several hundred (often thousands) of Teal and Wigeon as well as smaller flocks of Avocet, Dunlin, Black-tailed Godwit, Redshank and Oystercatcher. Join our team to explore these productive shorelines for a opportunity to learn about and see our more unfamiliar winter visitors.
Booking is essential to ensure compliance with the government's socialising rules and guidance.
Meet in front of the the Upton Country Park car park toilet block, ten minutes before the advertised start time. Car parking charges apply. Walk type moderate to easy. Fully accessible route for motorised wheelchairs and trampers.
Our guided walks are organised and planned in accordance with the current Government guidelines at the time of each event. All events are subject to change or cancellation should advice change. We ask guests to adhere to relevant social distancing guidelines during the event and to respect other guests space and welfare.
Our team at Birds of Poole Harbour really enjoy running our free guided walks around Poole Town and the Harbour. By making a donation to the charity you will help us to continue to run these free events. You can add a donation when you checkout or by visiting our donate page.
