Holes Bay is one of the most important sites in Poole Harbour for overwintering birds with huge flocks of waders and waterfowl spending time here. The site supports hundreds of Teal, Wigeon, Shoveler, Pintail, Avocet, Dunlin and sometimes thousands of Black-tailed Godwits amongst many other species. This winter has been a particularly impressive year for the site with record numbers of Black-tailed Godwit, Pintail, Knot and Shoveler all being recorded for the site. With this being such an accessible site, it is a fantastic place to see and learn about the important bird species that are found here.
Join our team for a free Pop-up watch at anytime during the sessions to discover more about our winter visitors as our local experts point out these species. We will provide several spotting scopes to give close views of the birds on a rising tide. There is no need to purchase tickets just come along on the dates and times below.
