Intro to Urban Birding: Poole Quay

NEW DATES ADDED
  • Multiple sessions available from 29 Feb 2024 to 7 Mar 2024
  • The Quay, Poole, Dorset, BH15 1HJ, United Kingdom
  • Show on map

Explore the natural riches nestled within the urban side of Poole Harbour with our series of urban guided walks. Join us for a free walk along Poole Quay towards Baiter and Poole Park as we spot some of Poole Harbour's winter visitors. At high tide the fringes here host numerous feeding waterfowl and waders including Oystercatcher, Dark-bellied Brent Goose, Great Northern Diver, Turnstone, Kingfisher and more. Come along for a walk with our team to learn about Poole Harbour's winter visitors and see just how many species can be found in an urban setting.

Booking is essential. Please let us know if you have booked and are unable to attend so that we can make the space available for someone else. The closest parking is available at Quay Visitors, Car Park (car parking charges apply). Meet at Poole Quay by the Greenslades Pleasure Boats ferry kiosk, ten minutes before the advertised start time. Walk type moderate to easy with fully accessible route for motorised wheelchairs and trampers.

If you require binoculars we have plenty of spares to borrow free of charge, but please let us know by booking the appropriate ticket type below.
