Poole Harbour Osprey Cruise

The Poole Harbour Osprey Translocation Project launched in 2017 with the aim of restoring a breeding population of Ospreys to the South Coast by releasing Scottish chicks into the Poole Harbour area. Ospreys migrate through Poole Harbour every spring and autumn, with peak passage occurring around mid to late August, when up to five or six birds can be present at any one time. Our boat trip will see us explore their favourite hunting areas, the Wareham Channel. You’ll be guided by one of the project leaders who will talk you through the project, the birds, the hopes and aspirations of the project.

This year welcomes another seasons of releases and the exciting prospect of potentially celebrating the first breeding attempt in Southern England for nearly 200 years. We’re offering an new series of MORNING & AFTERNOON cruises this summer for you to see and learn first hand from the project leaders about these incredible birds. So, if you love Ospreys and you love the summer then join us by hopping on board!

Booking essential. Please note, these trips are weather dependent. Although every effort will be made to run, the final decision will remain with the ferry company. In the instance a trip is cancelled, a full refund will be made available.

• The trip will depart promptly from the orange-and-white Greenslade Pleasure Boats ferry kiosk on Poole Quay.
• Nearest public car park located at Quay Visitors Car Park, Old Orchard, Poole BH15 1SB.
• Although every effort will be made to run, the final decision will remain with the ferry company.
• Toilet facilities and light refreshments are available onboard.
• We do not permit dogs onto the boat, with the exception of assistance and guide dogs.
