Sunnyside and Slepe Heath, meet at the Sunnyside car park, BH20 5BH, United KingdomView map
Are you new to birding or want to improve and build on a growing interest in Poole Harbour's amazing bird life? Autumn migration is one of the most exciting times of the birding calendar and can last from July right until early November. During this period a whole range of different species migrate through the UK and out via Poole Harbour. For the first of our Poole Harbour ID series we’ll be hosting three specialist courses to help get your head around those tricky early autumn migrants. We’ll cover everything from warblers, flycatchers, pipits and chats as well as passage birds of prey such as Hobby, Osprey and harriers. From bird behaviour, plumage and calls we’ll guide you through the step-by-step processes used to learn how to identify more unfamiliar species you’d expect to encounter at this time of year in the beautiful Poole Harbour landscape.
Our 4-hour course will provide you with all the information and skills you'll need to head out each autumn and approach your bird ID with a newfound confidence and enthusiasm.
Only 10 attendees per course allowing for a more intimate approach to bird ID. Decent spec binoculars will also be available to borrow for participants that don't own any or wish to use a higher spec pair than their own.
