In 2022 the Rock Lea View Point at RSPB Lytchett Fields was built and gives fantastic views over Lytchett Bay. Lytchett has become a real hotspot for Ospreys during the migration period as a shallow water body, plenty of Ospreys use the bay for fishing. So it's a great spot to spend some time watching and identifying migrant adults and fresh juvenile Ospreys that might have come from Scotland or other parts of England and Wales.

Drop by to learn all about the Poole Harbour Osprey Translocation Project while scanning Lytchett Bay as birds set out on their fishing rounds. August to early-September is the peak time to spot Osprey in the harbour as migrants fuel up before continuing south to their wintering grounds in West Africa.

There's also good chance of other species too as Lytchett Bay is a real hotspot for passage waders in Autumn as well as birds of prey like Marsh Harrier and White-tailed Eagle.

• When visiting Lytchett Fields and Rock Lea View, please park in the Frenches Farm car park (What3words:) or the Upton Recreation ground car park. Please do not block or obscure local residents' driveways on Seaview Road, Border Drive or Sandy Lane. From there you can then walk down to Rock Lea View (What3words:) following the RSPB signs which is about 1.3 km from the Frenches Farm car park.

• Feel free to drop by at any time during the watch and stay for as long as you like!
• All events are weather dependent. Please be sure to check our social media channels before attending if weather conditions are uncertain.
• These events are fully accessible with full wheelchair access to the viewing platform from the car park but please note it is a 1.3km journey from the Frenches Farm car park.
