Purbeck Seabird & Puffin Cruises
Important Information:
This year we're running our Seabird & Puffin Cruises a little differently. Due to the nature of these trips, they are highly weather and sea state dependent, which means we will only be announcing trips and releasing tickets 3-5 days prior to sailing. If you are interested in attending one of these cruises, you can sign up to our waiting list below and register your week(s) of interest for attending. We will then notify you if a trip is announced in the week that you have registered for, so that you can get priority notice for booking as soon as we have confirmed with Greenslade Pleasure Boats that a cruise can go ahead.
These 4-hour cruises will run in evenings between May and June 2024. Adult tickets will be priced at £38 and Child tickets at £19. Please note that there will not be a guaranteed trip every week and that signing up to our waiting list does not guarantee securing tickets.
About the Event:
This summer welcomes the return of our Seabird & Puffin Cruises along the Purbeck coast. Although not renowned for its breeding seabirds, this stretch of Jurassic Coastline supports an increasingly fragile Puffin population, along with nesting Guillemot, Razorbill, Kittiwake, Fulmar, Peregrine and more. Our four-hour cruises depart from Poole Quay for an evening charter, leaving the harbour behind and heading south along the coast past the iconic Old Harry Rocks chalk formations to Dancing Ledge in search of auks as they settle on the water to preen before returning to the cliff ledges. Join us to learn all about this dramatic coastline, its history and the birdlife it supports, then on the return journey we’ll time our arrival back into the harbour so that the the early summer sunset draws a perfect ending to our trip.
